Dr. Fawn's Story
After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2006 with highest honors, Dr. Fawn came back to Lock Haven to open Fresh Start Chiropractic & Wellness Center. From the beginning she began to teach her patients that with regular chiropractic adjustments they could drastically improve many aspects of their health, not just eliminate pain from injuries.
She was forced to put her own philosophy to the test seven years later when she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Through a faithful regimen of chiropractic adjustments to ensure that her brain was communicating effectively with the rest of her body, as well as following a strict diet of natural, healthy foods, taking proper vitamin supplementation, and exercising regularly, she has been symptom-free from that nasty disease since June 2014. In fact, she now feels better than she has ever felt in her entire life!
Dr. Fawn is devoted to learning as much as she can to help her patients heal themselves and stay healthy. She attends numerous conferences, both online and in-person, to obtain as much knowledge and information as possible. She frequently listens to podcasts and reads numerous books and other resources from many of her mentors, carefully analyzing their opinions, researching their findings, and applying them to her practice accordingly. She is always striving to gain as much knowledge as possible to help her patients with the health issues that they may be experiencing.
She ensures that each of her patients feels not only comfortable and at ease in her office, but she also works to make sure that they know they are highly valued and are not simply a number or a seat in the waiting room. She takes her time to really listen to their issues and asks the right questions to be sure that she fully understands their concerns. She also makes sure that she fully answers their questions in terms that they can understand. She breaks down the medical terminology into words that are comprehendible and has even been known to draw illustrations to drive home her points. As a team, Dr. Fawn and her patient will work together to develop a jigsaw puzzle depicting an overall health journey and work on each piece until the puzzle is completed and overall well-being is restored! She is thankful each day that she can help people to achieve happier, healthier lives and she will continue to do all that she can to ensure that her practice continues to be the cheerful, welcoming office that it has become.
Dr Fawn also enjoys being a Juice Plus Senior Sales Coordinator and leading her Juice Plus team as they help to promote healthy living in the local community and beyond. She enjoys doing community outreach with Juice Plus events, especially those involving children and families. Good nutrition is so important to overall health, and it is something that is lacking in many households. Juice Plus provides an easy way to bridge the gap in everyone’s daily diet between what they should be eating and what they actually eat.
She has been a life-long resident of Clinton County, graduating from Lock Haven High School in 1998 and from Lock Haven University in 2002. She enjoys traveling, as well as physical activities such as hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, being her dad’s biggest groupie in his local classic rock band, and she is an active member of her local church. She lives in McElhattan with her husband, Nic and their adopted Weimaraner, Bella, her rescue dogs, Lilo and Ben, and 3 adopted cats, Nolan, Quinn, and Mardi.
Dr. Fawn's Health Story
Chiropractic is one very important component of a healthy lifestyle, but Dr. Fawn is also extremely passionate about teaching her patients about how vital good nutrition and proper supplementation are to achieve and maintain true health and wellness. She also emphasizes that bad nutrition can lead to increased inflammation, which is the root cause of most health issues and diseases. Getting your inflammation under control can relieve and even reverse most health issues and have you feeling your best in just a short amount of time!
Many who know Dr. Fawn know her story. After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease over ten years ago she followed her chiropractic principles, knowing that her body could heal itself if just given the right tools. Nutrition played a HUGE role in this effort, and it has helped her to not only become symptom-free of the disease, but to be healthier than she has ever been without ever needing drugs or surgery. Patients are always asking for advice on their diet and supplements and so much of what the media tells us is healthy is wrong! Dr. Fawn has decided it’s time to teach you what it really means to ‘eat healthy’ and give your body what it needs to function at its very best!
