Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that uses gentle touch to promote relaxation and well-being. \nWhat is Reiki?\nReiki is a non-invasive\, complementary therapy that uses gentle touch to balance the body’s energy fields. The word “reiki” comes from the Japanese words rei\, meaning universal\, and ki\, which refers to a flow of life force energy. Reiki was developed in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. \nHow is it done?\nDuring a reiki session\, a practitioner places their hands on or near the client’s body to help guide energy through the body. The practitioner may hold their hands in place for about three minutes\, or until they feel the energy has stopped flowing. \nWhat are the benefits of Reiki?\nSome say reiki can help with relaxation\, stress reduction\, pain control\, and improved sleep quality. Research suggests that reiki may also help with emotional healing\, psychosomatic disorders\, and fibromyalgia. \nHow long is a session and how much does it cost?\nSessions are 60 minutes and cost $50 per session. Sessions are done in our Fresh Start Salt Therapy Room. Join Dr Fawn Shaffer and her team for a fun Sunday afternoon and we’ll show you! \nBring a large mixing bowl\, your favorite mixing spoon or spatula\, and an apron (if you’re worried about getting messy). We’ll supply the rest! You’ll leave with your own sourdough starter\, a sourdough loaf that you have started\, and the directions to finish your own loaf and keep your starter alive and healthy at home. You’ll also learn lots of good information about sourdough and improving your gut health with incorporating healthy eating with our Juice Plus products. \nHow to Register\nCost is $20/person with proceeds going to The Maddie Potts Foundation.
